FAQS

Starting Therapy

Get clear, supportive answers to help you feel confident as you begin your healing journey.

  • Your first session is an intake focused on understanding your presenting concerns, your goals, and what you want support with right now. We’ll take time to explore what brought you to therapy and begin mapping out a plan that aligns with your needs. The goal is to help you feel seen, heard, and understood in a nonjudgmental space.

  • Yes. I accept several insurance plans and also offer self-pay options for clients who prefer more flexibility. Before your first session, you’ll receive instructions on verifying your coverage so you know exactly what to expect.

  • Therapy is personalized, so the timeline varies. Some people feel relief within a few sessions, while others prefer longer-term support. We’ll move at a pace that honors your needs, goals, and readiness for deeper work.

  • It’s completely normal to feel nervous. Many clients begin therapy unsure of what to expect — and that’s okay. My approach is warm, grounding, and collaborative. You’re not expected to show up perfectly; you just need to show up as yourself.

  • Individual therapy is ideal when you want focused, one-on-one support. Wellness groups are great if you’re looking for shared connection, structured guidance, and community healing. During your consultation, we’ll talk through your needs and decide which option fits best.

  • EMDR is a trauma-focused therapy that helps your brain process distressing memories and reduce the emotional intensity connected to them. I use EMDR to support clients who feel stuck in past experiences, overwhelming emotions, or patterns they can’t seem to break. Sessions are structured, gentle, and paced to your comfort so you feel safe, supported, and in control throughout the process.
